FARGO — He couldn't go to the championship game in Frisco, so the champions came to him.
A handful of Bison football players lifted the spirits of Irv Rustad Wednesday, Jan, 28, when they paid him a visit at Bethany Retirement Living on South University Drive.
Rustad is a lifelong North Dakota State fan, and couldn't make it to the FCS championship game in Frisco, Texas, this year after recently being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
Bison players that included Trey Lance, Phoenix Sproles and Jabril Cox decided to surprise Rustad at the home with some pictures, handshakes and laughter, all to brighten his day and to thank him for his years of support.
