COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — North Dakota State and South Dakota State on Friday split a Summit League doubleheader that was moved from Brookings, S.D., to Iowa Western's Doc Ross Field due to weather and field conditions.
The Bison won the first game 10-2 but the Jackrabbits prevailed in game two 9-8.
In the first game, NDSU trailed by a run through two innings but scored three runs in the third and four more in the fifth to take command.
The Bison's Terrell Huggins was 2 for 3 with a double and three runs batted in. Peter Brookshaw was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double and two runs batted in. James Dunlap also had two hits and two RBI.

Starter Cade Feeney, from Bismarck, got the win, allowing a run on five hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out five. Skyler Riedinger pitched the final 2-2/3 inning, giving up just a hit and a walk while striking out three.

In game two, The Bison scored a run in the top of the eighth to tie it 6-6, but the Jackrabbits' Thatcher Kozal clubbed a three-run home run in the home half of the inning for a 9-6 lead. The Bison scored twice in the ninth on Stephen Lund's two-out, two-run homer, but SDSU reliever Ryan Bourassa got a fly out to end the game.
The Bison had nine hits, six of which went for extra bases. Lund, Dunlap and Druw Sackett hit home runs and Brookshaw, Jack Steil and Davis Hamilton all doubled.
The Bison are 3-2 in the Summit and 6-20 overall. The teams face off off again at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
