FARGO — The North Dakota State men's basketball program revealed its "Walk With Us" campaign on Friday, Jan. 8, in conjunction with its first home game this season.

The slogan was developed by the Bison student-athletes to promote unity, encourage conversations and spark positive change.

"Our 'Walk With Us' shirts are a representation of our team using our platform to address the social injustices in our country," said NDSU head men’s basketball coach David Richman in a press release. "As a Bison Family, we feel called and driven to do our part to bring awareness to the situation. Please join us as we work to do the 'next right thing' and bring people together."

The release said the campaign is an effort to reduce racism and social injustice by promoting healthy conversation, bringing people together and making a personal and local impact. The Bison plan to wear the "Walk With Us" shirts for the remainder of the season.

Shirts are available for purchase at ndsu-walkwithus.itemorder.com through the end of January. Proceeds from the shirt sales go directly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Red River Valley.

"We want to use our platform to spread awareness on the issues that matter," Bison junior Tyree Eady said. "At the end of the day, we play basketball. Basketball is just a sport. But this applies to everybody, and this is what really matters."
