TUCSON, Arizona — After losing two tight ball games to Arizona to start the weekend, North Dakota State fell flat in their third and final matchup with the Wildcats, losing 11-1 in eight innings on Sunday.

The Bison dropped Friday's game with Arizona 8-6 and the Wildcats won 7-6 in 12 innings on Saturday.

But no drama on Sunday. Arizona's Mac Bingham was 3 for 5 with two solo home runs and an RBI single and Kiki Romero hit a three-run homer and finished with four RBI.

Peter Brookshaw produced NDSU's only run with a solo home run in the sixth inning. Cadyn Schwabe and James Dunlap both had two hits.

NDSU's losing streak reached eight games and the Bison are 1-11. They move on to play three games at Texas State on March 10-12 in San Marcos, Texas.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
