GREELEY, Colo. — North Dakota State won six of the final seven matches to defeat Northern Colorado 23-15 on Saturday at the Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Bears broke out to a 9-3 lead after three matches thanks to a technical fall and a major decision. McGwire Midkiff picked up the Bison's points with a decision at 133 pounds.
NDSU's Kellyn March got the rally started with a sudden-victory decision at 149 pounds and No. 2-ranked Jared Franek tied it 9-9 with a decision at 157 pounds.
Michael Caliendo put the Bison in front with a technical fall at 165 pounds. The Bears picked up a fall at 174 pounds to retake the lead at 15-14, but the Bison closed out the match with three straight wins.
D.J. Parker restored NDSU's lead with a decision at 184 pounds and Owen Pentz got a decision at 197 for a 20-15 lead. Juan Mora needed to just avoid a pin or tech fall at 285 but instead responded with a sudden-victory decision to end the match.

The Bison have two home matches to wrap up their dual season, beginning with a dual against Oklahoma at 7 p.m., Feb. 10.
