CARBONDALE, Ill. — North Dakota State scored the first 14 points in the fourth quarter and held off a late Southern Illinois rally to earn a 21-18 victory Saturday in Missouri Valley Football Conference play at Saluki Stadium.
The Bison (8-2, 6-1 MVFC) have won three consecutive games. NDSU senior linebacker had a team-high 14 tackles against the Salukis.
Bison running back TaMerik Williams rushed for 56 yards and touchdown on 12 attempts. His 3-yard TD run gave the Bison a 21-10 lead with 4 minutes, 40 seconds to play in the fourth quarter.
NDSU rushed for 149 yards on 37 attempts, averaging 4.0 yards per carry.
