FARGO — No. 1-ranked North Dakota State scored 49 unanswered points in a 56-14 victory against the Drake Bulldogs in nonconference Football Championship Subdivision on Saturday at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome. The game was the season opener for both teams.

The Bison scored two special teams touchdowns and added a defensive TD in the second half to overpower Drake. NDSU has won 24 consecutive home-opening games.

“All around it was a good game," Bison senior tight end Noah Gindorff said. “I think it is a good game that we will be able to build off of moving forward.”

The Bison had eight different players score touchdowns against the Bulldogs.
