GREEN BAY — Former North Dakota State wide receiver Christian Watson got his first close view of the Green Bay Packers fans Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field.

Watson scored on a 15-yard touchdown run to give the Packers a 7-3 lead against the New England Patriots with 13 minutes to play in the second quarter.

Watson also caught one pass for eight yards to help the Packers earn a 27-24 overtime victory against the Patriots.

"We've just got to do what we do, lean on each other and just get the win," Watson told reporters after the game.

The 6-foot-5, 208-pound Watson was playing in his third NFL game Sunday.

"They love his stride, they love his speed, they said we have to figure out ways to get the football in his hands after he had that drop on the first play of the season," said CBS analyst Jim Nantz.

Earlier this season, Watson dropped a potential long touchdown pass against the Minnesota Vikings in the first game of the regular season at US Bank Stadium.

After he scored the touchdown, Watson jumped into the crowd for the traditional "Lambeau Leap," which is for Packers who score touchdowns in their home stadium.

"It's surreal," Watson told reporters after the game. "It's something I've dreamed of since I was a kid, just being able to play at the highest level, score a touchdown at the highest level so I'm definitely excited to get that first one."
