College softball: USD's Clara Edwards two-hits Bison in Summit League win

The Coyotes wrapped up the opening game of a three-game Summit series in five innings on Friday in Sioux Falls.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota's Clara Edwards fired a two-hitter and the Coyotes defeated North Dakota State 8-0 in five innings in the opener of a Summit League series on Friday.

The Coyotes took a 4-0 lead through three innings and wrapped it up with a four-run fourth. Edwards improved to 10-6 and the Bison's Paige Vargas fell to 11-6.

Emilee Buringa and Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage had NDSU's hits.

The Bison are 5-2 in the Summit League and 21-13 overall. They play the Coyotes in a league doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in Sioux Falls.
