College volleyball: Bison cruise to sweep against Western Illinois

MACOMB, Ill. — The North Dakota State volleyball team rolled to a victory in straight sets over Western Illinois on Saturday in Summit League action at Western Hall.

The Bison started strong with wins of 25-14 and 25-18 in the first two sets, and closed it out with a 25-23 victory in Set 3 for the sweep.

Ali Hinze had a team-high 16 kills to pace the NDSU attack. Syra Tanchin followed with 14 kills and Michelle Glover added eight. Taylor Quan anchored the defense with 20 digs. Kelley Johnson recorded 17 digs and Hinze added 13 to complete the double-double. Johnson had a double-double of her own, dishing out a team-high 39 assists.

The Bison (9-5, 2-0 SL) are scheduled to host South Dakota at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
