Women's basketball: Bison roll to non-conference victory

North Dakota State scored 62 first-half points and sailed to a win over Valley City State on Monday.

FARGO — North Dakota State breezed to a 96-45 non-conference win over Valley City State on Monday at Scheels Center.

The Bison scored 62 first-half points and led by 42 at halftime.

The Bison played 12 players and nine scored points, led by Heaven Hamling's 21 points. She also had five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Taylor Brown had 14 points and five rebounds, Abbie Draper had 13 points, four rebounds and three blocks, and Elle Evans had 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

Abby Schulte and Emily Behnke both scored nine points and Schulte had five assists.

The Bison are 2-0 overall and play host to Minnesota at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.
