Women's golf: Bison place 18th at Arizona invitational

Elise Hoven led NDSU with a 74 in Sunday's final round of the Red Rocks Invitational.

SEDONA, Arizona — North Dakota State's Elise Hoven carded a 74 in the final round and the Bison finished 18th in the Red Rocks Invitational at Oakcreek Country Club on Sunday.

NDSU shot rounds of 304, 314 and 310 for a three-round total of 928 to finish in 18th place in the 20-team tournament. Navy took the top spot with scores of 293, 298 and 289 for a three-round total of 880.

Hoven led the Bison carding rounds of 77, 78 and 74 for a three-round score of 229 to finish tied for 50th place. Catherine Monty (76-75-78--229) also finished tied for 50th place, while Madi Hicks (75-79-78--232) came in tied for 58th place.

NDSU plays in the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate in Pawleys Island, S.C., on Monday, March 27.
