KAPOLEI, Hawaii — North Dakota State is tied for eighth place after the opening round of play at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at Kapolei Golf Course on Monday.
The Bison carded a first-round 306 in the 13-team tournament. Gonzaga (282) and Colorado State (282) are tied for first place at 6-under. Hawaii (292) is 10 strokes back in third place.
Maddie Herzog led the Bison with a season-low 74 and is tied for 15th place. Jo Baranczyk shot 76 and is tied for 28th while Madi Hicks shot 77 and is tied for 34th place.
Gonzaga teammates Cassie Kim and Grace Lee are tied for the lead after shooting 5-under 67s on Monday.
NDSU will continue play at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 25
