OMAHA, Neb. — Sophia Green scored the go-ahead goal with 10 seconds left and Omaha defeated North Dakota State 2-1 on Sunday.

The Bison had tied the game just minutes before when Kelsey Kallio scored on an assist from Paige Goaley at 84:46. But Green’s shot at 89:50 was too strong for Bison goalkeeper Abby Wilkinson, who got a hand on the ball, but could not push the shot wide.

Omaha opened the scoring on Cece Behrens' goal at 19:51.

The Bison are 0-2-0 in the Summit League and 4-5-3 overall. They play home games against St. Thomas at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 and against Western Illinois at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
