Women's soccer: Two first-half goals lead Denver over Bison

Two goals less than two minutes apart lifted the Pioneers to a Summit League win over North Dakota State on Friday.

DENVER — Denver scored two first-half goals less than two minutes apart and defeated North Dakota State 2-0 in the Bison's Summit League opener on Friday.

The Pioneers' Hannah Gallegos scored on an assist from Jordan Crockett at 30:32. Delaney McGowan made it 2-0 with a goal at 32:23 on an assist from Riley Baker.

Denver outshot the Bison 10-5 and had a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.

The Bison are 0-1 in the league and 4-4-3 overall. They play at Omaha at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.
