North Dakota State softball is living to play one more day in the Summit League Tournament.
The Bison got up on the University of North Dakota early and never looked back, taking their opening round game 5-2. NDSU got the bulk of its runs on a three-run home run from Emilee Buringa in the third inning.
UND's season comes to an end at 14-39. The Bison will move on to play second-seed Omaha on Friday.
Tom Hoge's first round of the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic went from a back-and-forth front nine to a tremendous back nine. The Fargo South alum carded three birdies on the final nine holes to turn in a -4 (68) for his first round. He's currently eight shots off the lead.
