AUSTIN, Texas - North Dakota State junior Whitney Carlson placed 10th in the long jump by recording a mark of 20 feet, 7¼ inches at the NCAA Preliminary Round. Carlson advances to the national semifinals held in Eugene, Ore. From June 9-12 to compete in the long jump and heptathlon.
Carlson also finished 23rd in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.66, advancing to the national quarterfinals today. The time ties the school record she set in 2009.
E Junior Christine Bruins finished 14th in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 2:07.05.
E Junior Brittany Gigstead finished 23rd in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.89.
E Sophomore Kristen Killoran finished 36th in the long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 1½ inches.

E Junior Logan Hollenkamp placed 40th in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 179 feet, 5 inches.
E Senior Scott Johnson placed 45th in the hammer throw with a toss of 170 feet, 10 inches.
E Sophomore Kevin Jackson ran the 200 meters with a time of 21.34, finishing 34th.
