Blues pitching does in Patriots in sweep

Moorhead Blues pitching limited the West Fargo Patriots to three runs in a pair of games, beating West Fargo 4-1 and 8-2 in an American Legion doubleheader Tuesday.

Moorhead Blues pitching limited the West Fargo Patriots to three runs in a pair of games, beating West Fargo 4-1 and 8-2 in an American Legion doubleheader Tuesday.

Ryan Krause two hits and two runs for the Blues in the opener.

Jimmy Hoy and Travis Holmes added two hits apiece for the Patriots.

Moorhead's Corby Nelson hit a grand slam in the second inning of the nightcap, while Andrew Johnson and Shane Bushland added a pair of hits each.

The Blues scheduled game with East Grand Forks today has been canceled.

NOTE: Today's game was canceled because East Grand Forks is still playing in the state high school tournament. The Blues will practice from 5:30-6:30 p.m. today in place of the game.
