OREM, Utah - North Dakota State made some late-game adjustments and Kayla Dahlen and Lisa Bue went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final 58 seconds as the Bison earned a 71-63 women's basketball win Saturday. Bue scored a team-high 16 points for the Bison.
The win was NDSU's first of the season against a Division I independent. The Bison opened their D-I independent schedule Thursday with a 59-57 loss to Texas-Pan American.
"(We) did a good job of executing at the end of the game, hitting free throws and rebounding," NDSU head coach Amy Ruley said.
The Bison had lost by three points or fewer in their previous two games. NDSU hit 13 of 15 shots from the free-throw line against Utah Valley State.
Danni Heintzelman scored a season-high 15 points off the bench for NDSU.
