Bismarck Century capped a half decade of 20-win seasons Saturday at the Fargodome.

Andrea LaFrance scored 16 points to lead Century to a

62-43 victory against Jamestown for third place at the North Dakota Class A state girls basketball tournament.

The Patriots (20-5) have won at least 20 games in their last five seasons.

"That's what we kind of hung our hat on for this one," Century coach Jim Jeske said. "We wanted to win 20 games. Five 20-win seasons without a championship; somebody's been tough."

Jamestown (11-14) upset East Region champion Fargo South in the first round before falling in the semifinals and against Century.

"Bismarck Century is an awfully good basketball team," Jamestown coach Scott Botner said. "For us to play with them we have to do everything right and we

didn't do that today."

Morgan Dale paced Jamestown with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

A Miss Basketball finalist and three-starter, LaFrance capped her career with a solid effort. The 5-foot-9 guard grabbed eight rebounds and added three assists and three steals to go along with her game-high point total.

"We just had to gut it out and play our best," said LaFrance, who has signed to play women's basketball at the University of North Dakota.

"She's been the cornerstone of everything we've tried to do," Jeske said. "We have a good group of seniors who have been around for 80 wins. That's pretty good."
