FARGO-Chad Christensen, an assistant coach since 2013, has been named the head coach for the Fargo North-South high school girls hockey team.

Christensen, who grew up in Dickinson, N.D., and is a University of North Dakota graduate, has been a science teach at Fargo North since 2010. He has also been the head girls golf coach at North since 2013 and has assisted with the baseball and boys golf programs.

Christensen was an assistant coach with the Shakopee (Minn.) boys hockey program. He replaces Kris Dougherty who resigned after last season.
