FARGO -- Former North Dakota Fighting Hawks receiver Travis Toivonen signed an NFL contract Tuesday with the Seattle Seahawks.
He will enter this week's mini-camp on the team's 90-man roster.
The first round of the North Dakota Class A State golf tournament is in a weather delay after the first day of play. Some players have still yet to take the course. Play will resume Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.
One-loss Perham taking on Roseau in the winner's bracket of the Section 8AA baseball tournament. The Yellow Jackets put up three runs in the first, second and fifth innings as they run-rule the Rams 10-0 in five innings. Chas Melvin tosses a complete-game shutout for Perham. Roseau will play Wadena-Deer Creek in an elimination game Thursday at noon.

On the softball diamond, one-loss Hawley taking on Pequot Lakes in the winner's bracket. The Patriots strike first with a run in the first inning, but the Nuggets score 11-unanswered runs to beat Pequot Lakes 11-1 in six innings. Pequot Lakes will play Frazee Thursday at noon in an elimination game.
