Cobber men's hockey team's comeback falls just short against Wisconsin-Eau Claire

Concordia rallied for two goals in the third period but couldn't find the tying goal in a loss to the Blugolds.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Concordia's third-period rally fell short and the Cobbers fell 3-2 at Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday night at the Hobbs Municipal Ice Center.
Eau Claire took a 1-0 lead in the first on Quinn Green's goal at 7:32 and Jordan Randall made it 2-0 at 19:31 of the first with a power play goal.
The Blugold stretched their margin to three on Connor Szmul's goal at 10:36 of the second period.
Concordia's Cole O'Connell finally got the Cobbers on the board with a goal at 7:11 of the third on an assist from Tyler Bossert.
O'Connell brought the Cobbers within a goal on the power play at 12:19 of the third on an assist from Brady Tatro.
Cobbers goalie Jackson Nelson stopped 31 shots while Blugolds goalie Ryan Ouellette made 21 saves.
The Cobbers are 6-6-2 overall and take on the Blugolds again at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15.
