DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Concordia Cobbers wrestling team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering and Fontbonne (Mo.) before losing to host Dubuque on Saturday.
In the first dual, the Cobbers handled Milwaukee 35-18. Concordia proceeded to breeze by Fontbonne 41-9 in the second match before falling to the Spartans 28-15.
Benjamin Bogart and freshman Cade Lundeen combined to notch three pins in the 141-pound weight class for the visiting Cobbers. The junior Bogart came up with pins of MSE's Eddie Diaz Barragan and Fontbonne's Noah Patton. Lundeen gave the Cobbers a sweep of the weight class with his pin of Brock Radeke.
Kellen Schauer notched two pins for the Cobbers in the 149-pound class, while Ian Frenzel added a pin and decision victory for Concordia.
Saturday's results moved Concordia's record in dual meets to 5-3 on the season. The Cobbers return to the mat at 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Ridgewater Open in Willmar, Minn.
