College baseball: Bison split 2 with Sioux at Metrodome on Monday

MINNEAPOLIS - First baseman Zach Wentz cracked a three-run home run in the sixth inning to power North Dakota State over the University of North Dakota 8-6 in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday at the Metrodome.

The Sioux took the second game 10-6 Monday, after winning two games over the Bison on Sunday at the same venue.

Wentz went 3-for-3 in the second game, extending his hitting streak to 10 games.

Jason Mattila (1-1) pitched 3Zc innings in relief to pick up the win for NDSU in Game 1.
