FARGO - After being shut out 3-0 on Friday, Brynn Joki and North Dakota State came into Saturday's volleyball match against No. 17 Iowa State fired up and ready for redemption.
The Bison started off strong against the Cyclones and pushed their opponent to the brink before falling in five sets 26-28, 27-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-12 at the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.
"Last night was kind of a wakeup call for us," Joki said. "I thought we played a lot more disciplined (on Saturday), but we couldn't quite get the win.
Iowa State's Kristen Hahn recorded a career-high 35 digs as the Cyclones (9-0) remain undefeated with the win.
"I thought NDSU played great and they played aggressive," Iowa State coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said. "It could have gone either way, it was that close."
