CHICAGO - The University of North Dakota claimed its second consecutive Great West Conference Tournament title on Sunday by defeating South Dakota 11-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-20.
The Sioux (25-5) rallied after losing the first set to clinch the title. UND ended its season with a 15-match winning streak, which ties the school record.
UND junior Annika Smed led the Sioux with 18 kills and 14 digs, and also earned tournament MVP honors. Smed was joined on the all-tournament team by senior Erin Joki and freshman Erica Turner.
