ST. JOSEPH, Minn. — The Concordia Cobbers women's basketball team used a commanding first-half lead to cruise to a 71-62 win over St. Benedict in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Friday evening.
Concordia scored 21 points in both the first and second quarters to build a 42-27 first-half lead. The two sides both notched 19 points in the third quarter, but the Cobbers were able to fend off a fourth-quarter comeback attempt for the win.
Emily Beseman led the Cobbers with 22 points and eight rebounds. Mary Sem and Vanessa Kedl tallied 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Maddie Schmitz notched a double-double for the hosting Bennies with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
The visitors outshot St. Benedict 47% to 34%.

Concordia concluded the season with a 3-4 overall record.
