Gustavus women's hockey rebounds from deficit to down Cobbers

Concordia led 1-0 midway through the game but the Gusties tied it on a short-handed goal and scored two more in the third period.

MOORHEAD — Gustavus' Kristina Press scored the game-tying goal in the second period and added an insurance goal in the third as the Gusties defeated Concordia 3-1 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game on Friday at the Moorhead Sports Center.
The Cobbers held a 1-0 lead midway through the game thanks to Jerica Friese's goal at 11:38 of the first period. Jordie Egerdahl got the assist.
But Press scored an unassisted short-handed goal at 8:35 of the second to tie it. The Gusties' Brooke Power scored the go-ahead goal at 6:26 of the third and Press added a power play goal at 9:31.
The Cobbers fell to 2-6 in the MIAC and 6-9 overall. The teams play again at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Moorhead Sports Center.
