Men's hockey: Cobbers erupt for 5 second-half goals to fuel win over St. Mary's

MOORHEAD — Concordia's men's hockey team rolled to an 8-3 victory over St. Mary's on Friday in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at Moorhead Sports Center.

Nicholas Ness and Brady Tatro each scored in the first period for the Cobbers. Henkemeyer-Howe got the Cobbers barrage started 3 minutes, 18 seconds into the second period. Tyler Bossert found the back of the net before Tatro scored his second of the game. Braden Costello and Tanner Breidenbach added a goal each for Concordia in the second frame. Brock Montgomery scored an eighth Cobbers goal in the third period.

Parker Simonson and Kevin Ness each had two assists for Concordia and goalie Jackson Nelson tallied 21 saves.

The Cobbers (2-2-1, 1-0 MIAC) are scheduled to play St. Mary's again at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moorhead Sports Center.
