Men's hockey: Cobbers tie Wisconsin-River Falls
Former Moorhead Spud Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe scored one of the Cobbers' goals.
MOORHEAD — Concordia and Wisconsin-River Falls skated to a 2-2 double overtime tie on Friday in nonconference men's hockey at Moorhead Sports Center.
After a Noah Roofe goal put River Falls up 1-0 in the first period, Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe, a Moorhead High School graduate, scored for the Cobbers to tie it at 1-1 at the 7 minutes, 24 seconds mark of the first.
Noah Ganske scored at 2:11 of the second period to put WRF back ahead, but Concordia's Brady Tatro buried a power-play goal at 6:21 of the second to make it 2-2 and eventually force overtime.
Cobbers goalie Jackson Nelson tallied 21 saves.
The Cobbers (1-1-1) and River Falls play the back end of the two-game series at 2 p.m. Saturday at Moorhead Sports Center.
