FARGO — North Dakota State true freshman quarterback Cam Miller scored an 6-yard touchdown run with less than four minutes to play in the fourth quarter to help clinch a 21-13 victory against the Illinois State Redbirds on Saturday, March 13, in Missouri Valley Football Conference at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
The No. 5-ranked Bison (4-1, 3-1 MVFC) have won 31 consecutive home games and are set to host the No. 3-ranked University of North Dakota (4-0, 4-0) on Saturday, March 20, at the Fargodome.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Miller rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts, taking over for starter Zeb Noland in the third quarter. Miller also completed 5 of 7 passes for 61 yards.
The Bison also got a big play from sophomore Jayden Price, who returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown to give NDSU a 7-0 lead with 11 minutes, 20 seconds to play in the first quarter.
