NORTHFIELD, Minn. — St. Olaf's Matthew Pointer scored 90 seconds into overtime and the Oles defeated Concordia 2-1 on Friday night.
Both teams are now 2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Cobbers are 4-3-1 overall while the Oles are 3-3-1. The team wrap up a two-game weekend series at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, in Northfield.
The Cobbers outshot the Oles 26-19 but St. Olaf goalie Cooper Lukenda stopped all 16 shots he faced after subbing in for Thomas Lalonde, who made nine saves in the first period. Concordia goalie Jackson Nelson made 17 saves.
Concordia's Alex Stoley scored at 11:10 of the first period on an assist from Keaton Leininger. St. Olaf's Tyler Cooper tied it at 10:49 of the second period on an assist from Ethan Hersant.
