Women's soccer: Early goal lifts Macalester over Cobbers

ST. PAUL — Macalester wasted no time finding the back of the net on Wednesday en route to a 1-0 victory over Concordia in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer at Macalester Stadium.

Carolyn Eckstein scored two minutes into the first half on an assist by Hannah Conner to lead Macalester (3-0-1, 1-0).

Lauren Tschider, Samantha Holmberg and Grace Lawlor each had a shot on goal for the Cobbers. Concordia goalie Breanna Nelson tallied four saves.

The Cobbers (3-4, 0-1 MIAC) are scheduled to next play St. Scholastica at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at home.
