MOORHEAD — Kylee James scored midway through the second half and the goal stood as the game-winner in Concordia's 1-0 win over St. Catherine in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match on Wednesday.
The win snapped Concordia's eight-game winless streak and lifted the Cobbers' record to 1-5-1 in the MIAC and to 4-8-1 overall while St. Catherine fell to 4-2-1 in the conference and 7-4-2 overall.
James scored on an assist from Sophia Robinson at 64:46. St. Catherine outshot the Cobbers 15-5 overall, including 10-1 in the second half. Cobbers goalkeeper Breanna Nelson made five saves and the Cobbers had two team saves to record the shutout.
Concordia plays Augsburg at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, in Moorhead.
