MINOT — Led by five runners who placed in the top 25, West Fargo claimed the North Dakota Class A high school girls cross country championship Saturday.
Led by senior Hope Pringle who placed seventh, West Fargo won the team title with 95 points — 15 points ahead of second place Fargo Davies. West Fargo junior Clare Boldingh placed 19th while sophomore Kaelyn Berg placed 20th, freshman Tess Oduor placed 24th and freshman Jordan Knudsvig placed 25th.
Jamestown junior Meghan Ford claimed her second straight Class A individual title, placing 48 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.
In Class A boys competition, Bismarck Century won the team title while Dickinson’s Brady Yoder won the individual title. West Fargo Sheyenne’s Jacob Knodle placed third.
In Class B girls, Hillsboro-Central Valley senior Reagan Baesler claimed an individual title in a time of 18:26.4 - nearly 30 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Jenna Soine of Hatton-Northwood-Larimore. Rugby won the team title with 78 points, 83 points ahead of second-place Bowman County.
In Class B boys, senior Robert White won the individual title to help lead New Town to a team title with 66 points, 17 points ahead of second-place Bowman County. White won by nearly four seconds over second-place finisher Chase Fossum of Hillsboro-Central Valley.
