FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. — Freshman Payton Lane led the Minnesota State Moorhead cross country team with a 17th-place finish Friday at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Lane clocked a time of 23 minutes, 7.6 seconds in the women's maroon 6K. Freshman Hope Pringle finished 90th in 24:40.3. The Dragons women placed 15th as a team, while UMary took first place.
Freshman Drew Mears finished 113th in 28:16.6 to lead the Dragons in the men's maroon 8K. Freshman Adnew Stueven was 120th in 28:23.5. MSUM's men's squad finished 24th in the team standings, while Wayne State (Mich.) claimed the top spot.
The Dragons return to action at the Jimmie Invite on Oct. 8 in Jamestown, N.D.
