A decorated Minnesota State Moorhead track career will conclude this weekend.
Derek Bredy, a senior from Hoffman, Minn., is set to compete in the long jump, triple jump and 400 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, which start today in Pueblo, Colo.
"I think he's the best athlete in the history of MSU Moorhead," said Dragons track coach Keith Barnier. "He's made everybody around him work harder in terms of what he's done for the program. He's made us relevant."
Bredy has 12 MSUM school records, including nine individual crowns and 16 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference titles to his credit entering the national meet.
"It seems kind of nice that it is closing the way it should be," Bredy said. "I honestly don't have expectations. I just want to have fun."
