Dragons men's basketball flies past Northwestern

MOORHEAD — It took a second-half scoring barrage, but Minnesota State Moorhead ultimately rolled to a 115-76 exhibition win over Northwestern before 800 fans at Nemzek Fieldhouse.

MSUM carried a narrow three-point lead into halftime, but the Dragons quickly came alive with 14 unanswered points. MSUM outscored the Eagles 64-28 in the second frame, shooting 59.1% from the field and sinking nine-of-18 threes.

Four Dragons posted double-digit points, paced by Bryce Irsfeld's 24. Nathan Rund followed with 17, while Siman Sen grabbed nine rebounds to lead all players. Noah Alm led Northwestern with 18 points.

MSUM opens the regular season against Missouri Western at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Hillyard Classic in St. Joseph, Mo.
