Dragons volleyball team defeats Crookston to snap losing streak
MSU Moorhead's sweep of Minnesota Crookston ended a six-game losing streak and was the Dragons' second win of the year.
CROOKSTON, Minn. — The Minnesota State Moorhead volleyball team defeated Minnesota Crookston 25-19, 25-11, 25-23 on Friday night, snapping a six-game losing streak.
It was a much-needed taste of success for the Dragons, who won just one set during their losing skid and won for just the second time this season.
Amanda Carlson led the Dragons with 22 kills and she hit .372. Kelly Klees had 28 set assists, and Sarah Petrbok served four aces and had 16 digs, and Abby Thompson had five kills and four total blocks.
The Dragons, now 2-8 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and 2-16 overall, play at Bemidji State at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.
