Erstad, Helling and Beyer to receive ND Hall honors

FARGO - Darin Erstad, Rick Helling and Ed Beyer will receive the Cliff Cushman Award as they are inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.

Erstad from Jamestown, N.D., and Helling who was born in Devils Lake, N.D., went on to play Major League Baseball.

Beyer graduated from Concordia College in 1960. He coached the Hillsboro boys basketball team for 37 years, accumulating a record of 688-195 and winning four state Class B titles. Beyer retired with the most wins of any coach in North Dakota boys basketball history.

The HOF banquet is July 14 at the Jamestown Civic Center.
