FARGO-Fargo Force goaltender Strauss Mann has committed to play college hockey at the University of Michigan following his junior hockey career.

Mann, from Greenwich, Conn., is in his first season with the Force after spending two seasons playing for the Brunswick School in Connecticut. In April 2017, Mann and his Mid-Fairfield Chiefs U18 team captured the USA Hockey Tier I National Championship in Pittsburgh. Mann stopped 32 shots in an overtime win over Team Wisconsin in the championship game.

In eight games this season with the Force, Mann has posted a 6-1-0 record. Mann's 2.03 goals-against average ranks third in the USHL, and his .928 save percentage is good for fourth in the league.

Mann is the second member of the Force to commit to Michigan this season. Forward Garrett Van Wyhe committed the Wolverines in November.
