Chris Erichsen's first attempt running a marathon turned out pretty well as the St. Paul runner won today's Fargo Marathon with a record time for the event.
Erichsen ran the course in 2:19.52, which broke the previous record of 2:24.33 set last year by Pete Gilman.
During last year's Fargo Marathon Erichsen won the half-marathon race.
Finishing in second place for this year's marathon was Hilary Cheruiyot from Kenya.
