Fargo Post 2 wins Sioux Falls baseball tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Trailing 7-3, Fargo Post 2 scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat New Prague (Minn.) 9-7 and win the Dakota Classic baseball tournament.

Cole Hage and Drew Sandy each had two hits for Post 2 which went 5-0 in the tournament. In Sunday’s semifinal game, Post 2 defeated Brandon Valley (S.D.) 8-0 as Zach Kluvers tossed a two-hit shutout.

On Saturday, Post 2 beat Brookings (S.D.) 11-1. Cole Hage went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Andrew Linn went 3-for-4 while Jace Dew went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Post 2 also beat Harrisburg (S.D.) 3-0 as Zach Sandy threw a complete game allowing two hits and striking out six batters.

On Friday, Fargo Post 2 defeated West Central (South Dakota) 12-2. Tyler Thrash, Caden Headlee and Jace Dew each went 3-for-3. Cole Hage hit his third home run of the season. Tommy Wellen picked up the win.
