Fargo Post 400 earns split with Fargo Post 2
Post 400's Colten Alme singled in the winning run in the eighth inning of the nightcap Wednesday.
FARGO — Colten Alme singled in Eli Mach with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Fargo Post 400 defeated Fargo Post 2 9-8 in the second game of a Legion doubleheader Wednesday at Starion Field.
Post 2 won the first game 9-1.
In Game 2, Post 2 led 8-3 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning but Post 400 scored five to tie it. In the eighth, Eli Mach drew a lead-off walk, Oliver Lucht singled and Easton Rerick moved them up with a sacrifice bunt. Kobe Senn was walked intentionally and Alme followed with an RBI single to short.
Senn had three hits, including a home run and a triple, and two RBI. Rerick and Alme both had two hits and an RBI and Caden Graf had two hits. Post 2's Isaac Emineth had two hits and three RBI, Will Bachman was 3-for-4 and scored three runs and Tommy Simon had three hits and an RBI.
Holding a 3-1 lead in Game 1, Fargo Post 2 put the game on ice thanks to a five-run sixth inning.
Post 2's Adam Leininger was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Connor Holm doubled and had two RBI. Caden Headlee and Dylan Erholtz both had two hits and an RBI. Kaden Kvidera went all seven innings, allowing a run on three hits and striking out four.
Alme hit a solo home run in the second to tie the game 1-1, and Graf was 2-for-3.
