Fighting Hawks men's basketball races past North Central

GRAND FORKS — The North Dakota men's basketball team dispatched North Central by a score of 115-50 Tuesday night in nonconference play at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

UND raced out of the gates in the first half, opening an imposing 30-14 lead 10 minutes into the frame. The Fighting Hawks shot 66.7% from the field in the first half, sinking eight 3-pointers in the process.

The second half proved to be more of the same for the Fighting Hawks, who sunk 21 free throws in the half. The UND advantage ballooned to a high of 68 points approaching the final buzzer.

Gertautas Urbonavicius led the hosts with 20 points. Kienan Walter and Aanen Moody added 16 points apiece. Five UND players finished with double-digit scoring. Zac Saddler recorded 10 rebounds.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for UND, who will next face Florida Gulf Coast at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 in Fort Myers, Fla.
