Figure skating: Moorhead's Ladwig, Evora finish in 9th

TURIN, Italy - Moorhead's Mark Ladwig and pairs skating partner Amanda Evora finished in ninth place after Wednesday's free skating program at the World Figure Skating Championships.

TURIN, Italy - Moorhead's Mark Ladwig and pairs skating partner Amanda Evora finished in ninth place after Wednesday's free skating program at the World Figure Skating Championships.

Ladwig and Evora were in ninth after Tuesday's short skating portion.

Ladwig and Evora finished in 10th place overall in pairs skating at the Vancouver Winter Olympics last month.

U.S. champions Caydee Denney and Jeremy Barrett came in seventh.

Olympic silver medalists Pang Qing and Tong Jian won and finished with 211.39 points, more than six points ahead of two-time defending world champs Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany.
