WEST FARGO -- West Fargo is the most recent high school in the metro area to install new field turf for a playing surface.
The field was officially completed on Monday.
The next step for the school is to get a thumbs up from FieldTurf officials when they conduct a walk through. The school hopes to do it soon, but a date has not been scheduled.
Once approval is given, Packer soccer and football players hope to get on the field. The goal, according to West Fargo activities director Jay DeCann, is next week.
"I get so many comments from people who just drive by with what they see," DeCann said. "It's a game changer. Our kids are going to get a consistent playing surface."
West Fargo Sheyenne is also installing new turf. Two weeks ago, Fargo North announced it will be putting turf in as well.
