After eight months of deliberations, North Dakota State has a starting quarterback.
Head coach Matt Entz announced Monday that redshirt freshman Trey Lance will be the starter for the Bison against Butler at Target Field. Lance beat out junior transfer Zeb Noland, who arrived in Fargo after transferring from Iowa State.
Lance appeared in two games in 2018, completing one pass while rushing for two touchdowns. He was a highly sought after recruit out of Marshall, Minnesota, some websites considered Lance the top prospect out of the state of Minnesota in 2018.
