BOISE, Idaho — Eric Sachse kicked a 28-yard field goal in overtime to lift No. 21-ranked Boise State to a 20-17 win over Wyoming late Saturday night.

Wyoming, coached by former North Dakota State head coach Craig Bohl, led 10-7 at halftime and 17-10 going into the fourth quarter.

Wyoming, which falls to 6-3 overall, was playing without starting quarterback Sean Chambers, who went out for the season with a knee injury in Wyoming's previous game against Nevada. His fill-in Tyler Vander Waal finished 15-of-23 passing for 160 yards.

Boise State, 8-1 overall, kept its New Year’s Day bowl hopes alive despite playing without injured starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier. His fill-in Chase Cord threw for 190 yards and one touchdown.

Wyoming now has a 0-7 record against Boise State.
